Chris Jewell Named Chairman for the GNACC

In January of this year, Chris Jewell was named the new Chairman for the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce. The GNACC is an organization which invites businesses and individuals in Northern New London County to become members in order to promote and strengthen business through networking and local support. Chris has been an active member of the Chamber for 7 years and is loving his new role!


C&J Employees Complete Welding Course

Collins & Jewell Company had five employees who completed the Welding III Manufacturing Pipeline Program at Three Rivers Community College on April 19, 2017. Niles Winchell, Brian Webster, Monica Bonner, Chuck Beckwith and Sergio Rosas Moran attended class every evening for 10 weeks and maintained their full time work schedule throughout the entire program. We congratulate them on furthering their education and expanding their skillset for themselves and for the good of the company!


Collins & Jewell Hosts GNACC LEAD Event

On April 25, 2017, C&J was pleased to welcome the participants of the Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) program through the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce to host their monthly class. The students got a tour of the facility and heard from several speakers including Chris Jewell, Brian Dudek, Ralph Watson, Andy Messier (CPA), John Mancini (Eastern Savings Bank), and Gary Carignan (DocXellent).

C&J’s Latest Versa Lift

The Versa Lift 60/80 is the newest fork truck at Collins & Jewell. With the ability of lifting up to 80,000 pounds and the boom lift attachment giving crane capabilities, the Versa Lift gives C&J new opportunities on off-site jobs by allowing for more versatility in our industrial installation.

Faro Vantage S Laser Tracker

The FARO Vantage S laser tracker (new to C&J this year) is an extremely accurate and portable laser measurement tool that allows for precise measurement in various applications, onsite and in the field. With a processing speed of 16,000 samples/second and an accuracy of .078mm at 80 meters, this tool has helped Collins & Jewell Company further optimize our quality assurance and continue to deliver superior products. We are excited about this new technology!
